Diana Barry
Yume Miyamoto
Q:How did you feel when you found out you had been cast in Anne Shirley?
From the time I auditioned, I was thinking, “I want to be involved with Anne’s time,” so I’m really happy to be able to carry Diana’s feelings as I share time with Anne.
Q:What were your impressions after recording the first episode?
I had met Anne and the others in the pages of the novel before, and now I was able to meet them in the studio!!! The Anne that I met through Inoue’s performance in the studio was so exactly like the Anne I knew that it surprised me. She laughs out loud, she talks a lot, she gets all huffy. There was an incredibly lovable character right there, and it made me very eager to see what Anne and Diana’s future will hold.
Q:What was it like in the recording studio?
Everyone was grinning over how cute it was the way Anne’s expression changes so quickly. There were around fifteen cast members in the recording booth each week, and we talked about what Avonlea would have been like in the time of the story. Time passed quietly in the studio, much like the mood of the series itself. It was really relaxing! I’m around the same age as Inoue and Miyase, so I want to be bold about talking to them so we can get closer! *Laughs*
Q:What would you like to say to the viewers?
I’m Yume Miyamoto, the voice actress who will be playing Diana Barry! I’m very happy to be involved with a work like this that has been loved by so many people for so long. I don’t think there are many opportunities to play a single girl as she grows into a woman with so much detail, so I’d like to take my time and treasure getting to know Diana and Anne! I’ll play the role with care!
