Anne is delighted to be adopted and live at Green Gables, but then the neighbor, Mrs. Lynde, insults her appearance, causing her to throw a tantrum. Marilla chastises Anne, who decides to apologize to Mrs. Lynde and seek forgiveness in her own way. After that, Anne visits the home of the Barrys, where she meets Diana Barry, who becomes her bosom friend. Seeing how happy Anne is in a new environment filled with love and friendship, Matthew and Marilla are happy too. Little by little, they themselves are changing too!
